Book or Hire Kate Moodley – Keynote Speaker

When you meet Kate Moodley, three words come to mind: professional, ambitious and humble.

Kate is an accomplished business woman with a number of academic qualifications which include a Masters in Law. She began her career in legal but quickly moved into the financial services industry and insurance, in particular. Kate has gone from strength to strength starting as a Candidate Attorney with Deneys Reitz. She became a Legal Advisor with Old Mutual in 2003 and she moved onto Momentum as a Business Development Manager for Momentum in 2005.

Her career grew markedly in Momentum as she established herself first as a Regional Manager and then a General Manager (Executive Management). In 2010, she took the courageous step of becoming a Franchise Director at Discovery – essentially running her own business under the Discovery umbrella.

Professionally, she has been recognized as an emerging leader and businesswoman. In 2014, nominated for Africa’s Most Influential Woman. In 2013, she won the Young Achiever Award for SA. In 2012, she was selected at the Top 200 South Africans by the Mail and Guardian. She was also selected as one of the 20 on the Power List by Woman and Home in 2012. She won the Rising Star Award for the finance category and in 2011, she won Top Business Woman of the Year and Top Woman Executive for South Africa.

Kate has been selected as a spokes-person and chair of the African Women’s International Conference. She has been awarded CEO’s SA’S Most Influential Woman in Business and Government for Insurance too. She has also been selected as ‘FNA’s’ Women who are making a difference. Throughout her career, she has sought to establish a consistent and growing personal brand.

She has written numerous article for magazines such as Oprah, Personal Finance, CEO, M-Magazine, Momentarily, Cosmo, Women & Home and Entrepreneur etc. She has just completed her first book, ‘I Inc’.

In her book, ‘I Inc: Be the CEO of your Brand’, Kate explores the lessons she has learnt in her career. Her advice and practical examples provide useful insights into the world of personal branding and it will set her readers on the road to leveraging their personal and professional strengths for career success.

“I was seven years old when the teacher Miss Du Toit asked us what we want to become one day. ‘And you Elana’ Do you want to be a teacher, a doctor or a lawyer?‘ ‘I want to be like Coca Cola’, I answered. Miss du Toit laughed. The truth is each and every one of us is a brand, just like Coca-Cola is a brand. No one understands this better than Kate Moodley, author of I INC. Be the CEO of you brand. Kate has turned herself into a forward thinking and brave brand and in her book she shares valuable tips, lessons and wisdoms on how you too can become a successful brand. This book is a must read for everyone. And if I can get hold of Miss du Toit she’s definitely getting a copy too!”

Elana Afrika – Television and Radio Personality

“This book is great. The case studies about personal branding are particularly interesting. Personal branding is exactly what Kate proposes it is – an all-encompassing online/offline/personal and professional package.”

Gareth Cliff – Radio and TV Personality

“Great book, light reading that gave me direction about the most important aspects that encompass the personal branding topic. Prior to reading this book I underestimated the impact that people’s perceptions (of you) have in relation to your personal brand. We live in a world that believes that no matter what you do, good or bad, people will always be judgmental. This of course doesn’t mean that one should have an “I don’t care what they say” attitude but rather to focus on continuously working on nurturing and elevating your personal brand. More importantly, to make a conscientious effort to improve thyself.”

Sonia Booth – MD: Bonneventla S Footwear Manufacturing & Booth Sports

“A practical, user-friendly collection of ideas, inspiring anecdotes and experiences for anybody marketing a service, product or company. Easily digested and immediately applicable”

Hylton Kallner – Chief Marketing Officer for Discovery
